Mecalux’s Logistics Solutions for e-Commerce Businesses webinar was held this past 3 November. For just over an hour, participants discussed the main challenges facing online retailers, analysing the tools for optimising logistics operations and providing more effective service.
The more than 500 attendees — mainly from Spain and other Spanish-speaking countries such as Argentina, Colombia and Mexico — attentively followed the session, featuring Jorge González of PrestaShop, Daniel Vizcarra of Global Freaks, and Albert Vidal and Ignasi Mallol of Mecalux Software Solutions.
The webinar also served to debut Mecalux’s new Marketplaces & Ecommerce Platforms Integration. This software syncs warehouse stock with that of the digital sales platforms; at the same time, it automates order preparation to ensure quick distribution.
Global Freaks, the online shop specialising in collectible figures, uses this new Mecalux module to communicate directly with the three e-commerce platforms through which it sells its products (PrestaShop, eBay and Amazon). In the webinar, the manager of Global Freaks talked about his experience, affirming, “This module centralises the three platforms in a single panel, providing us with detailed information on available stock and customer orders.” With this system, Global Freaks has tripled the number of orders it can dispatch daily, from 90 to 300 on peak days.
E-commerce is booming; in fact, the COVID-19 pandemic has only boosted its expansion in industries such as food, retail and fashion. Mecalux has a long history of designing comprehensive solutions for the e-commerce sector, including storage systems and management software that streamline operations in these types of warehouses.
